FAMILY SUPPORT (SC) INC

"Take care of our children.
Take care of what they hear,
take care of what they see,
take care of what they feel.
For how the children grow,
so will be the shape of Aotearoa"

       Dame Whina Cooper

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR OUR SERVICES?

Our services are available to anyone with children in their care, and living in the South Canterbury Area (excluding Twizel).

The work of Family Support (SC) Incorporated is undertaken in four distinct, but complimentary, service delivery areas:

HOME-BASED SUPPORT PROGRAMME

This programme offers intensive home-based support for families, using the underlying principle that constructive change can occur in the context of a trusting, non-judgemental relationship; which models alternative ways of dealing with potentially stressful situations; and offers support that is:

♦ intensive
♦ home-based
♦ skilled
♦ practical
♦ personal

The philosphy is based on a commitment to empower families by developing their strengths, and assisting them wherever possible to remain intact and become increasingly functional. Alternative care for children should only be used when all other family efforts have been exhausted.

CHILDRENS SUPERVISED CONTACT SERVICE

Supervised contact provides quality time for children to build and maintain relationships with family members from whom they are separated.
