Children's Supervised Contact Services

Home-Based Support Programme

This programme offers intensive home-based support for families, using the underlying principle that constructive change can occur in the context of a trusting, non-judgemental relationship; which models alternative ways of dealing with potentially stressful situations; and offers support that is:

♦ intensive
♦ home-based
♦ skilled
♦ practical
♦ personal

The philosophy is based on a commitment to empower families by developing their strengths, and assisting them wherever possible to remain intact and become increasingly functional. Alternative care for children should only be used when all other family efforts have been exhausted.

Coping with the kids - A parenting skill course

A 5 week child management course.

Goal : Helping parents to use positive strategies.

  • If your children are not doing as they are told;
  • If you are "losing it" and yelling more than you would like
  • We can show you how to make a BIG difference - in just five weeks!

Children's Supervised Contact Service

Supervised contact provides quality time for children to build and maintain relationships with family members from whom they are separated.

Goal: Contact will be facilitated in a safe, child-focused, confidential setting; and the service aims to ensure that, during a visit, children will remain safe from physical, sexual and emotional abuse.

Benefits of Supervised Contact:

  • Children continue to form a safe relationship with family members who are important to them
  • The safety and privacy of all parties is a priority
  • Children and visiting family meet together in a safe and secure environment

Coping with the infant/toddler - A parenting skill course

Goal : Helping parents to enhance their parenting skills.

  • For young parents who wish to learn safe, practical skills for parenting
  • This service is available to anyone that wishes to participate with or without children in there care
